White list our IP-numbers

Written by Jacques van der Wilt | January 30, 2015 4:21:28 PM Z

DataFeedWatch is growing at an incredible rate. Again we added more servers to accommodate for all new shops and agencies that are joining DataFeedWatch. As a consequence, we will also change our IP-numbers shortly.

This will have no consequence for most of our customers, but it has for a few:

WhiteList our IP-numbers on your server

The new hardware comes with new IP-numbers. An IP-number is like the phone-number of our servers on the internet address. Some merchants (only a few that are on Magento or that upload a cvs/txt/xml-file) have limited the access to their servers to ‘known parties’. DataFeedWatch needs access to their servers to download the data feed. So these merchants need to tell their own server to grant access to the (IP-numbers of the) servers of DataFeedWatch. This is called ‘white listing’.

ONLY IF you have previously whitelisted our current IP-number on your server: 176.9.113.242, we would like you to to also whitelist our new IP-numbers: 148.251.198.33 & 78.46.214.6

If you never whitelisted our IP-number previously, you do not have to do anything.

WhiteList our IP-numbers in your Shopping Channel account

Some channels (for example Shareasale) need to white-list your IP-number before they allow you to upload your data feed. Since DataFeedWatch is doing your uploads, you need to white list our IP-numbers with that channel.

ONLY IF you have previously whitelisted our current IP-number with a Channel: 176.9.113.242, we would like you to to also whitelist our new IP-numbers: 148.251.198.33 & 78.46.214.6

If you never whitelisted our IP-number previously, you do not have to do anything.

What happens if I don’t know?

Don’t worry: we have very few customers that actually did white-list our IP-number previously. If you don’t know, it’s probably not you. If it turns out that you you do need white listing and you didn’t do it, we will finds out immediately and send you an email.

Do I need to whitelist a new IP-number every few months?

NO. We have ‘re-organized’ our servers in such a way that we can continue to add more servers that are all using the same IP-number. So this is probably the first and the last time that we’ll ask you to add new IP-numbers.
